I have known Lee for at least a decade from our time teaching skiing together. When he asked me to photograph his and Debby’s wedding, it was a chance for me to combine two of my great passions: skiing, and photography. We ended up grabbing first chair, and had the chance to ski some powder together while taking photos of these two amazing skiers. Afterwards they had their ceremony at the Vail Chapel, followed by a reception at the Vail Nordic Center.
Jordyn and Josh had planned a really fun wedding in Keystone, Colorado. After I discovered they were huge Star Wars fans, I called my wife and asked her to bring some of our lightsabers over to Keystone for some photos.
Jordan and Gaby traveled from Texas to have their wedding at Arapahoe Basin at the Black Mountain Lodge. At 11,500 feet, Black Mountain Lodge has to be one of the highest wedding venues in the country. While the views are certainly incredible, a venue that high does present some interesting challenges such as when a summer mountain storm temporarily shuts lifts down. Gaby and Jordan definitely took it in stride because one certainty when dealing with weather in the high alpine is that if you don’t like it, just wait a few minutes and it will change. The stormy sky, definitely made for some exciting and dramatic wedding photos.
